PRESENTATION

The Centre for Constitutional Law and Political Institutions (CCLPI) was created in 1991,without legal personality, as part of the Chair of Public Law at the Faculty of Law, as a scientific forum for the organisation of workshops and debates on various topics of contemporary constitutional law .

The CCLPI wishes to promote scientific research and debate on constitutional and political systems among teaching staff in the area of public law, researchers, PhD scholars, students and practitioners of standing that wish to contribute to the study of constitutional concepts and developments relevant today. Through analysis and discussions, the CCLPI wishes to promote the theoretical and practical understanding of the main tendencies in contemporary public law, including comparative law.

Main activities developed by the CCLPI are fundamental and applied research in the area of constitutional law and political institutions, participation in international academic exchanges, publication of working papers and other documents of scientific interest, organisation of and participation in colloquiums, conferences and debates on themes of present interest concerning constitutional systems.

Since its creation CCLPI has organised or has participated in the organisation of prestigious scientific gatherings in collaboration with the Romanian Institute for Human Rights, the Romanian Constitutional Court, the Romanian Law Society, and the Faculty of Law and International Relations of the “Nicolae Titulescu” University, among others.
